Jim Lovell, Fred Haise, and Jack Swigert are three highly trained astronauts sent out into the vastness of space on a lunar landing mission. Emerging from Earth’s atmosphere, the spacecraft suffers a severe technical problem, throwing the expedition into jeopardy. Their new objective is survival as NASA’s command center tries to find a way to bring them home safely through the perils of space travel.
