A young female doctor is on the edge of losing her license to practice medicine due, in part, to her very controversial methods. However, there seems to be a glimmer of hope in the recovery of her career. She is courted by the Russian military and brought to a hidden scientific compound. She is asked to study a man who has recently come back from space on a secret mission but has brought back a mysterious alien life form that lives within him.
