Cole Sear is a young boy who suffers from terrible visions. Unable to trust anyone with the information, except his psychologist, Dr. Malcolm Crowe, Cole feels frightened and alone. Together, the pair begin to unravel a mysterious event from Dr. Crowe’s past through which Cole demonstrates supernatural abilities.
